Maintenance Engineer

Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable experience for guests and team members. This includes minor repairs to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems. The technician utilizes the HotSOS system to manage work orders, prioritize tasks, and document completed assignments. Pay Range $21.40 - $22.40 #towncountrysd

Responsibilities

  • Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests via HotSOS, ensuring timely and professional resolution.
  • Perform general maintenance and repair duties in areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and painting.
  • Conduct routine inspections of guestrooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to identify and correct issues proactively.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks according to the property's maintenance schedule.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with the Engineering team, Housekeeping, Front Office, and other departments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop and equipment storage.
  • Assist with special projects, renovations, and emergency repairs as needed.
  • Follow safety standards and protocols in compliance with OSHA regulations and property policies.
  • Provide excellent internal customer service and uphold resort brand standards in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance or engineering experience in a hotel, resort, or similar environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic repairs in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with HotSOS or other work order systems is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, manuals, and safety documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • EPA Universal or CPO certification a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move continuously for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs independently and occasionally heavier with assistance.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching, and working in confined spaces.
  • Comfortable working in varying conditions, including outdoor weather and mechanical areas with heat/noise.
  • Must be able to respond to emergency calls promptly and safely.
