Job Description

 

Turner & Townsend seeks an experienced Cost Engineer with a strong cost background to work in a client facing role with one of our high-profile Oil & Gas clients.  The role is to provide Cost Engineering services across multiple projects as part of the client’s shared service team, with a specific focus on analyzing cost data in order to identify project risks and opportunities, this role will positively influence the outcome of our clients’ projects/events. 

*Hybrid - 3x a week onsite in Whiting, Indiana*

  Key Elements: 

  • Utilize the client’s standard tools and processes as appropriate for each project’s life cycle development and execution phase, maintaining consistency in cost. bases through rigorous adherence to the controls processes. 
  • Create accurate monthly cost reports, identifying variance from the plan on commitment, value of work done, changes etc. 
  • Provide project management support in the development of cost breakdown structures, work breakdown structures and documenting cost, time and resource sheets. 
  • Implement the change management process for projects, providing guidance on trend analysis and the assessment of change impacts on cost. 
  • Maintain and promote realism in the cost forecasts in the face of commercial pressure and optimism from project teams. 
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable. 

Qualifications

 

  • A minimum of 3-5 years industry experience in project controls/cost engineer positions. 
  • Experience in managing large/small projects. 
  • Experience with Ecosys and Power BI, preferable. 
  • Fully versed in cost control principles and techniques. 
  • Turnaround experience a plus. 
  • Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills. 
  • Self-starter with a client centered focus.
