Summary of Job Duties:

SURF Student Fellow, UAMS:
The SURF Student Fellow is an undergraduate student that has been accepted to the 9-week summer research fellowship program titled the UAMS Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship.

Supervision:
During the 9-week summer program, each SURF Student Fellow will be assigned a UAMS research faculty mentor who will work with them on a summer research project. The students will also attend required weekly seminars. The SURF Program Director will manage the program overall as well as monitor their weekly time.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications and Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent U.S. resident or obtain applicable I-20 CPT authorization to join the program by the start date and/or a valid EAD card, whichever is applicable.
  • Student must be a science major interested in graduate school and pursuing a career in biochemistry and molecular biology.
