MFG. Support Intern (Product Engineering)

Overview

An intern position in the Product Engineering Group at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems offers you the opportunity to be continually challenged and immersed in a design environment. Working with Product Engineers will give you the time to develop your skills and talent in a collaborative environment. You will have access to the latest tools, hardware, and some of the brightest engineers in this area. If you see yourself as a versatile individual, broadened experiences and a position in Product Engineering are within your control.

We are about supporting the warfighter. We are about developing advanced rotary cannons, high speed ammunition handling systems, gun turrets, crew served weapons and other electro-mechanical technologies. Our products can be found with every U.S. military branch and with allies around the world.

Major Position Responsibilities

The Production Engineering Intern will work directly with a team of seasoned GD-OTS engineers to tackle all production related tasks.  These tasks may include conducting parts reviews, drafting engineering reports, designing test plans, evaluating novel gun system improvements, supporting fire testing, conducting engineering stress and fatigue analysis, support to test range personnel, support to production assemblers (Saco), interacting with other procurement, financial, planning, programming, analyst, designer, and engineering personnel as part of a cohesive team.

Required Education:

  • The candidate shall be entering their Junior and/or Senior year in 2025 and attending school for a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
