Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 370-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael California serving the areas of north Sacramento County and south Placer County for more than 50 years. Responsibilities

Day Full Time Pre/Post Procedure Nurse 

 

Our Pre Post Procedure Unit is a 15-bed phase two (2) recovery and procedure recovery unit. The unit is open from 0600-1900 to provide procedural services to the hospital both inpatient and outpatient. The department recovers GI MRI IR Cath lab and PACU phase 2 patients and prepares them for discharge and is also responsible for admitting outpatient GI patients and readying them for procedures. 

 

The incumbent is a professional who provides and supervises care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. Each RN is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team providing leadership personal/professional development and conducting him/herself professionally.

 

The incumbent shall demonstrate behaviors consistent with the core (Mercy) values in support with Mercy San Juan Medical Center and the Mission and Philosophy of Dignity Health.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum: 

  • Current CA RN license

  • Minimum one (1) year RN experience in critical care PACU, Ambulatory Observation Unit or similar experience

  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS

 

Special Skills: 

  • Become competent in Sheath pulling within 6 months of hire

 

Preferred: 

  • Two years of adult critical care nursing experience

  • Experience with post cardiac interventional / interventional radiology patients

  • Skills related to laboratory and x-ray order entry and online documentation

  • Sheath management and removal experience
