Sr Machinist (Weekend Shift)

Overview

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, is hiring a Sr Machinist with CNC experience to join our Anniston Team.  We are about supporting the mission of the warfighter.  Our products can be found with every U.S.  Military branch with allies around the world.   We are looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help shape and support this organization.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Assists with the installation, operation, testing, and adjustment of various types of conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments. 
  • Fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.  
  • Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.  
  • Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications. 

Basic Qualifications

Required Education: Vocational/Technical Training Degree

Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience

 

Years and Area of Experience (required for the role): 3-5 years prior experience in a similar position
