Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead the launch of our new products in defense innovation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in identifying market opportunities, developing partnerships, and executing strategies to ensure the successful introduction and growth of a new product in a competitive market. This role requires a mix of strategic thinking, market research, customer relationship management, and sales execution to ensure a successful product rollout.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:


1. Market Analysis & Strategy Development:

  • Augment existing market research to identify key trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape for the new product.
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies tailored to the defense market.
  • Expand business opportunities and potential market segments beyond initial rollout targets for product adoption.

2. Product Positioning and Messaging:

  • Collaborate with the engineering team and leadership to define product positioning and key messaging.
  • Develop sale collateral, presentations, and communications materials to support the new product launch.

3. Sales & Partnerships:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, distributors, partners, and customers.
  • Identify and pursue partnerships that could drive product adoption, including channel partners and thought leaders.
  • Develop sales strategies and forecasts to achieve target sales goals.

4. Lead Generation & Conversion:

  • Identify and generate high-quality leads through digital marketing, networking, and attending industry events.
  • Manage the sales pipeline, from lead generation to conversion, ensuring smooth transitions from prospecting to closing deals.

5. Product Launch & Rollout

  • Coordinate the execution of product launch activities, including defense exercises, demonstrations, and customer engagement efforts.
  • Monitor product rollout to ensure alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Collect feedback and insights from early adopters to refine product offerings.

6. Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly track performance against product launch goals.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on product launch success, challenges, and growth opportunities to leadership.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the engineering and operations teams to ensure alignment on product features, messaging, and customer support. 
  • Provide feedback from the market to guide future product improvements and refinements.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field
  • 8+ years' relevant experience
  • Proven experience in business development or sales, preferably in a similar industry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
