Full Time General Psychiatrist - flexible schedule & very competitive compensation

 

Valley Behavioral Health is a 114 bed facility, located on a beautiful campus in the Arkansas River Valley, Valley Behavioral Health offers the highest quality treatment in the area.

 

Our sub-acute inpatient, inpatient, and outpatient programs for men, women, and children provides a safe structure where individuals can focus on healing themselves and working though their issues. All of our patients receive an individualized treatment plan that meets their needs and ensures long lasting recovery. Our goal is to provide individuals the tools and knowledge they need to live a happy, healthy life.

 

At Valley Behavioral Health all of our levels of care & treatment services are under the medical direction of board certified psychiatrists, with each patient receiving personalized treatment by a multi-disciplinary team of therapists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, educational specialist, Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, recreational specialists, and a team of other caring mental health professionals. With emphasis on care, family involvement, comfort, and safety, Valley Behavioral Health is committed to providing good quality care for your loved one.

Overview:

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
  • Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
  • Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
  • Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
  • Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
  • Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
  • One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
  • Licensed in the the state in which the facility(s) operate.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Board certification in psychiatry
  • Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
