You will step into a pivotal role driving a foundational Visa platform, where innovation and technological advancement are at the forefront of our mission. In this position, you will lead and shape the future of Visa’s unified directory, ensuring continued security and seamless customer experience across all use cases and credential types. The platform service you will be managing touches nearly every Visa cardholder and every Visa client and supports many other core services across Visa internally. This role is critical to position Visa to be the best way to pay in all digital environments. Drawing on your extensive experience in the digital payments domain and with scaling products, you will drive strategy and product management. You will be a member of the Digital Products team within the Consumer Payments Organization at Visa, responsible for driving how every Visa payment instrument is used in digital environments. 

The ideal candidate will work with minimal guidance in a fast paced, ambiguous work environment, and will have the ability to independently translate high level guidance into detailed deliverables. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who thrives in hands-on environments, capable of diving into the work, taking ownership, and delivering results without the need for constant supervision or managerial oversight. They will demonstrate good interpersonal skills and executive presence, especially being able to “sell” the vision and product to internal stakeholders as well as external clients. We are looking for a unicorn in this role – someone who technically adept, can work with architects on a new platform, is a very creative problem solver, and has ability to explain complex/ambiguous solutions simply to an wider set of audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the product roadmap and strategy for the Unified Directory: Define a compelling roadmap that enhances credential enrollment and retrieval, improves reliability, and builds critical infrastructure with clear benefits to our end clients and customers. Develop the long-term vision and set the roadmap to fulfill that vision. 
  • Product Delivery: Ensure the Directory is flexible, modular, and future proof to new data elements and experience use case it must serve  
  • Build next-generation intelligence: Leverage existing Visa data directories to drive a best-in-class unified directory that ensures we can accurately and securely and seamlessly identify customers from various sources and validate exit points for credential retrieval  
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner closely with engineering, architecture, legal, privacy, sales, risk, compliance, and customer support teams to make informed decisions on product direction, technical trade-offs, and client experience enhancements. 
  • Champion the customer: Understand the varying needs of our issuing clients, wallets and payment service providers, and merchants/acquirers to ensure usability and future-proofing our of Directory. Have a broad lens of who the customer is – your customer is internal Visa product developers who will use our Unified Directory as well as our clients such as Issuers, PSPs, Merchants.  
  • Navigate complexity with confidence: Provide clarity in ambiguous situations, set clear priorities, and maintain focus on delivering measurable business outcomes. Spot risks, find opportunities, identify competitive landscapes, and emerging trends, and understand implications, breaking insights down into pragmatic actions.  
  • Champion GenAI: Understand how to use GenAI to build and release product faster, better. Ensure Visa’s Directory solves for future agentic AI use cases.  
  • Two-Sided Network Approach: Deeply understand the need to simultaneously scale a two-sided network. You will need to work closely with our ‘supply’ side API owners to enroll data into the directory and with our ‘demand’ side API/SDK owners to ensure the exit points can be trusted and verified for retrieval of data.  
  • Gain Followership: Build strong, collaborative relationships and buy-in from the organization across levels and product portfolios. Demonstrated experience working in a matrixed environment at scale partnering across all functions, business units 
  • Working across geographies is key – and gaining buy in and alignment with regional executives is a key aspect of this role 
  • Deliver High Quality PM Artifacts: Achieve excellence in quality of PM artifacts (requirements and Epic writing, roadmaps, backlogs, PRDs) and data-driven decision making. Drive a robust software development process that is agile, predictable, and results oriented. Bring a combination of critical thinking and pragmatic delivery to yield the best short-term as well as long-term results.
  • Demonstrated success in driving positive cultural change and fostering an environment where employees feel connected and motivated to collaborate.  
  • Documentation & Best Practices: Develop and maintain detailed platform documentation, including architecture diagrams, deployment procedures, and operational guidelines. Continuously evaluate and implement best practices to enhance platform quality and security. 
  • Root Cause Fixer – While others may be satisfied with temporary band-aid solutions, you see the true source of the problem and can’t imagine wasting time on anything besides killing it at its roots. You see the roadblocks in the way that are slowing everyone down and find ways to remove them.  

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
