The Role

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our local (US) manufacturing process for premium plumbing products? As the Assembly Operations Manager at Waterworks, you'll be at the forefront of integrating final assembly and metal finishing processes into our global manufacturing strategy, driving our long-term growth.


In this dynamic role, you'll tackle complex assembly challenges and spearhead strategic improvements to expand our light manufacturing operations. This is a unique opportunity to develop a high-performing, efficient assembly operation that consistently delivers top-quality products.


Responsibilities
  • Assess and refine current assembly processes, implementing best practices to maintain high operational standards.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and technical expertise to the assembly team.
  • Ensure all products meet established client and company quality standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Establish, manage, and maintain metal finishing and assembly standards to drive operational success.
  • Develop and oversee essential programs related to assembly, such as training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, and security.
  • Lead and manage a team of associates, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Conceptualize and design tooling fixtures to enhance assembly processes.
  • Apply process improvement methodologies to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Procurement teams to evaluate best practices and insights across the supply chain team.
  • Establish and maintain metrics for all aspects of operations and partner with Finance to provide weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Conduct monthly reviews with external vendors to review quality, performance, and service standards.
  • Provide one-on-one technical support and guidance to team members.
  • Monitor team performance to ensure manufacturing goals align with company objectives.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate staff while exemplifying Waterworks’ core values.
  • Demonstrate passion for the Waterworks brand and products.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.


Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in a management role within manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience effectively managing a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both strategically and hands-on.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office; experience with Infor M3 is a plus.
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills and problem-solving capabilities, coupled with the ability to execute tactically on a day-to-day basis.
  • Working knowledge of CAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of the bath/plumbing industry is a plus.
