The Congressional District Organizer is responsible for both building the WFP and Working Families Power in their assigned Congressional district and mobilizing WFP members, aligned organizations, and constituents in support of WFP and Working Families Power’s national Congressional Accountability Program. In coordination with both national WFP staff and the state team, they will develop a localized campaign plan to raise awareness of their representative’s record and hold them accountable for positions they take that are contrary to the interests of working people in their district.

• Work with national and state staff to build a campaign plan for their Congressional district to raise awareness of their representative’s record and mobilize constituents in opposition to any policies that harm working people.
• Recruit and manage, in partnership with Political department staff and leadership, manage a local coalition of labor unions, community organizations, advocacy groups, local leaders, and constituents aligned around an accountability campaign.
• Plan and host events including rallies, protests, direct actions, phone banks, canvasses, text banks, letter to the editor campaigns, etc.
• Identify and train volunteers to serve as storytellers and spokespeople in the press.
• Monitor votes, public statements, appearances, and other activity undertaken by their representative.
• Help communications staff identify local media opportunities and map out the local press landscape, in consultation with local communication staff if applicable.

• Build and manage text campaigns and phone bank infrastructure.
• Help manage local press relationships and draft communications materials including press releases, talking points, remarks, etc.
• Help the state team support priority down-ballot WFP campaigns that overlap with the assigned Congressional District.
• Plan local WFP and Working Families Power events and help recruit new members into the party.
• Assist in fundraising efforts to expand accountability work.

• 3 years or more of political, electoral, legislative, labor, or grassroots organizing experience
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
• Ability and willingness to travel across the district as needed
• Demonstrated capacity to create and manage organizing campaigns
• An understanding of federal politics and elections
• Strong analytical skills and sound political judgment
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage the technical aspects of a project such as logistics, paperwork, deadlines, etc.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage local political relationships and deconflict intrapersonal conflict
• Experience with (or willingness to learn) common campaign tech tools like EveryAction and relational organizing tools
• Ability to communicate compellingly about WFP and Working Families Power’s work and inspire others to action, whether one-on-one or in a large group
• A passion and demonstrated commitment to social, economic, and racial justice
• Critical thinking, problem solving skills, drive and tenacity
• Familiarity with local politics preferred
• Fluency in languages other than English is a plus

• Compensation: The salary range for this role is $65,000 to $85,000. The final salary for this role will be determined based on our Pay Scale, which takes into consideration years of experience, geographic location, and final job description. The upper end of the salary range is reserved for individuals who significantly exceed the minimum qualifications and years of experience. • Location and Travel: This is a hybrid role requiring you to work most days in person in Allentown, PA or Harrisburg, PA.
• Schedule: The position is temporary and full time. The position ends 9/30/2025.
• Union Affiliation: WFP is a unionized workplace. This is a short term temporary role that is not eligible for inclusion in WFP’s staff bargaining unit. WFP's union employees are represented by the New York Metropolitan Area Joint Board, Workers United union.
