Cloud Software Engineer 2

Install, configure, test, administer, monitor, troubleshoot, and sustain the operating system and application software for large, clustered systems based on the CLOUD technologies COPILOT, ACCUMULO, PIG/PIGLET, SPARK and Hadoop (HDFS and

MapReduce). Develop, integrate, and test software to provide encryption/decryption and wrapping/unwrapping services for the TDF; integrate same with a variety of IC GovCloud Discovery, Storage, and Utility Cloud components.


Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).


Capabilities
  • Proficiency and work experience with the Map Reduce programming model and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), etc.
  • Proficiency and work experience with distributed scalable Big Data Store (NoSQL) such as Hbase, Accumulo, Big Table, etc.
  • Proficiency and work experience with Serialization data interchange formats such as JSON and/or BSON.
  • Proficiency and work experience in the design and development of at least one Object Oriented system.
  • Proficiency and work experience developing solutions integrating and extending FOSS/COTS products.
  • Desired Characteristics:
1) Hadoop Cloud Certification.
2) Experience deploying applications in a cloud environment.
3) Understanding of Cloud Scalability.
4) Apache Nifi.
5) MongoDB (or strong in other NoSQL).
6) Experience designing and developing automated analytic software, techniques, and algorithms.
7) Experience developing and deploying: data driven analytics; event driven analytics; sets of analytics orchestrated through rules engines.
8) Experience with linguistics (grammar, morphology, concepts).
9) Experience developing and deploying analytics that discover and exploit social networks.
10) Experience documenting ontologies, data models, schemas, formats, data element dictionaries, software application program interfaces and other technical specifications.
11) Experience developing and deploying analytics within a heterogeneous schema environment.


Required Qualifications
  • TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly
  • Six years experience using Java programming language.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional experience on projects with similar requirements may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • In addition, the candidate shall have demonstrated work experience with at least four of the desired characteristics.

Hourly pay rates listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location. *Hourly pay rates reflect the pre-benefit gross wage amounts.
