Our Story

​​Back in 1948, with great foresight and a nod to innovation, Founder Joe Dahm opened Indiana’s first automated carwash, Mike’s Minit Man. A few years later, Joe's brother, Ed Dahm, joined the business. At the time, just 18 carwashes were operating in the United States.

Since then, millions of vehicles have passed through our wash tunnels and we’ve grown to become the largest exterior-only carwash company in the nation. Along the way we've held fast to one goal: delivering a clean, fast, friendly experience to each customer, every time they visit.

Today our carwashes feature the most advanced technology available, specially formulated detergents, soft cloth, computer-controlled equipment and our special touchless hot air dryers, along with the exceptional customer service for which Mike’s is known.

Our dedicated and talented team members work hard to earn your trust and keep you coming back. We know that next to your home, your vehicle is likely the second largest investment you’ll make—and caring for it safely is a privilege we don’t take lightly.

As our founder Joe Dahm often reminds us, we’re really in the people business. We just happen to wash cars.​​​
