Pros

Really overall. Goals are attainable. Management is great and helpful. Good company filled with good people.

Cons

None. I am honestly only doing this review to help my girlfriend research companies she is applying to. Glassdoor required I review my current company.

Work Life Balance

Integrating Life & Work at Vertex

We spend a large number of our waking hours at work. Shouldn’t you enjoy that time? We strive for a culture that helps you integrate your work and life in a way that will grow your career, live your life, and be wildly happy and successful at both!

Corporate Philanthropy

  • Our Corporate Philanthropy program supports four organizations chosen by our employees that are near and dear to our hearts:
  • The Patriot Foundation: Since 2003 this fine organization has focused on providing scholarships and aid for children of soldiers who were killed or injured from Fort Bragg
  • Breastcancer.org: Breastcancer.org was created in 2000 to address the need for accessible, understandable and compassionate information about breast cancer diagnosis and treatment issues.
  • The American Heart Association: This organization is the oldest, largest voluntary organization devoted to fighting cardiovascular disease.
  • Big Brothers/Big Sisters: Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through  18, in communities across the globe to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

Neurodiversity in the Workplace Initiative

SpARC Philadelphia’s Neurodiversity in the Workplace initiative presented Vertex with its Innovation Award for our unique approach to creating “bridge jobs” that allow individuals to make the jump from unemployment to meaningful work now and in the future.

Community Involvement

Vertex employees in the U.S., Europe and Brazil participated in school and park clean-ups, programs with Ronald McDonald House Charities, STEM-instruction sessions at local schools, volunteer activities in animal shelters and much more.

Our employees around the world engage with their communities through a wide range of volunteer endeavors as part of our inaugural Global Day of Service.

Wellness

The Vertex Wellness Program is designed to help employees make lifestyle changes that can lead to better health. The program combines activities and educational opportunities focused on some of the key points of healthy living: preventative care, increased physical activity, improved eating habits, and healthy eating. A team of employees helps promote wellness with onsite health screenings, fitness programs, and wellness events.

Vertex also offers the "More to Life" Employee Assistance Program. This program is designed to help employees address a range of topics and issues—including legal, financial, everyday living, family and caregiving, health and wellness, and emotional well-being.
