ABOUT THE ROLE

In this pivotal role as a Senior Manager, Power Markets, you'll leverage your extensive expertise in renewable energy markets to design and deliver impactful solutions for our global clientele, helping them achieve their ambitious decarbonization goals. As part of our Global Commercial Team, you'll provide strategic leadership in supporting client engagements across international markets. You'll lead and mentor high-performing teams, support new business development opportunities, and oversee the strategic implementation of complex client engagements. You may also be called upon to engage in special projects like supporting the company's expansion into new markets.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Senior Manager, Power Markets, APAC you'll be a strategic leader with a global perspective, focusing on these core areas:
● Strategic Client Leadership: You'll oversee the strategic implementation of complex client engagements within the Power Markets business unit, ensuring exceptional service that consistently exceeds expectations. This includes managing client interactions, content creation, quality control, and meticulous attention to detail. You'll also be responsible for building and managing strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on their decarbonization journey.
● Team Collaboration & Development: You'll foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, empowering and mentoring junior team members to achieve their full potential. This includes developing and implementing project plans, identifying and mitigating potential project risks, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work. You'll also be responsible for coaching team members and helping to develop their knowledge base and skills set to become future leaders in the renewable energy sector.
● Business Development & Innovation: You’ll identify and support new business opportunities in domestic and international markets. This may involve, but is not limited to:
○ Market Development: Conducting market research, attending industry conferences, and collaborating with industry groups to develop new market opportunities (e.g., conference mapping, attendance and speaking) with the objective of driving revenue growth for the Power Markets business unit and expanding 3Degrees' reach in the corporate decarbonization globally. You'll also be a Culture Ambassador, fostering positive relationships and representing 3Degrees' values in new markets. As applicable, supporting the company's global expansion efforts through short-term or long-term travel.
○ Sales: Developing sales materials specific to new markets (e.g., SOW templates), identifying and building relationships with potential partners (e.g., companies / associations / coalitions), supporting regional sales teams (e.g., attending local client meetings), and leading proposal development in collaboration with internal teams to translate client needs into effective decarbonization solutions.
○ Regulatory: Staying abreast of relevant regulations and attending appropriate governmental events to ensure compliance and market access. Collaborate with 3Degrees’ Marketing Intelligence Team to gather market data and inform strategic decision-making.

Thought Leadership & Industry Influence: You'll be a thought leader in the Power Markets domain, representing 3Degrees at industry forums and conferences. You'll also be responsible for staying abreast of global trends and market developments in the corporate renewable energy sector, contributing to sector-specific content creation, and identifying new opportunities to expand 3Degrees' leadership position within this industry.
ABOUT YOU
You are a seasoned sustainability professional with 5+ years of experience in consulting, with a focus on renewable energy and other emission reduction strategies, including within the corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) sector, in the Asia-Pacific region. You have a proven track record of managing complex projects, leading and developing high-performing teams, and exceeding client expectations in a global context. Here are some of the key qualities we're seeking:
● Deep expertise in renewable energy and other emission reduction strategies as they apply to voluntary corporate climate goals (e.g., Science Based Targets, RE100, supply chains)
● Experience with corporate PPAs, renewable electricity procurement across global markets, and decarbonization goal setting for multinational organizations
● Proven ability to design and implement comprehensive decarbonization strategies for multinational corporations, focusing on renewable electricity and gas solutions
● Strong understanding of the global regulatory environment for renewable energy and climate disclosures
● Analytical mindset with a passion for solving complex client challenges and a strategic approach to problem-solving within the decarbonization domain
● Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal (English fluency required, additional languages a plus) with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders at all levels
● Client-centric approach with a genuine desire to see others succeed and a focus on building strong client relationships
● Proven ability to lead and mentor high-performing teams
● Ability to develop and execute a global business development strategy
● Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and the ability to create clear and effective client deliverables
● Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and global environment
HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS
Within the First 30 Days
● Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Power Markets service offerings, team structure, client base, and the climate consulting sector.
● Become familiar with our key systems, processes, and tools used to manage projects and client relationships.
● Build strong working relationships with your team members, key stakeholders across the Global Commercial Team, and internal departments at 3Degrees.
Within the First 90 Days
● Successfully contributing to ongoing client projects, demonstrating a strong grasp of core responsibilities within Strategic Client Leadership.
● Begin to mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support on assigned tasks.
● Participate in and contribute to the development of new business development opportunities within the Power Markets segment.
Within the First 6 Months
● Independently lead and manage assigned client projects, ensuring exceptional service delivery and exceeding client expectations.
● Effectively mentor and coach team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
● Develop and present thought leadership content specific to the Power Markets domain, positioning 3Degrees as an industry leader.
Within the First Year
● Consistently deliver high-impact results across all areas of responsibility, including Strategic Client Leadership, High-Performing Team Management & Development, Global Business Development & Innovation, and Thought Leadership & Industry Influence.
● Contribute significantly to revenue growth within the Power Markets segment, expanding 3Degrees' reach and impact in the global sustainability marketplace.
● Become a recognized expert in the Power Markets domain, representing 3Degrees at industry conferences and forums.
