Data Engineering Advocate

We believe Data Engineering Advocacy empowers data professionals to achieve more. As an advocate, you’ll guide them in enhancing their skills, connect them with peers, and create a platform for sharing their stories, knowledge, and best practices.

You'll play a vital role in building a vibrant community around 5X’s data platform, ultimately driving awareness, adoption, and contributions to it.

• Lead the conversation around data engineering trends and best practices.
• Drive 5X’s awareness & adoption with engaging content around our narrative & positioning as a full-stack data platform
• Writing: Blog posts, newsletters, tutorials, etc. Videos: Podcasts, best practices, interviews, etc.
• Talks: data engineering and thought leadership. Samples: data analyses, integrations, etc.1:1: discussions with influencers, helping them with 5X Engage the community & prospective customers
• Events: conferences, meetups
• Discussion: Slack, Discord, StackOverflow, Reddit, etc. Social: Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media
• Support 5X’s product and engineering efforts by sharing what you learn while engaging with the wider data community

• 5X seems to know what we data professionals are going through. And they’re publishing content that helps us solve <x> problems

• You are a data practitioner with subject matter knowledge in data engineering [preferred], data analytics, and data science. You are a leader in the data practitioner communities. 
• You are a solid communicator with experience writing about, teaching, or discussing complex technical topics.
• You have empathy and understanding of developer personas and can apply that to the design and development of good community experiences.
• You have launched a developer product and grown a thriving community. Alternatively, you have solid intuition, passion, and empathy for technical communities, which leads us to believe you'll excel at this at 5XStrong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on communicating technical topics.
• You have interfaced with Product, Marketing and Sales teams.
