Overview

Abacus Technology Corporation is a Federal government recognized small business and provider of information technology (IT) services and solutions.  For over 40 years, we’ve developed effective partnerships with government and industry to tackle business challenges and pressures for Federal Defense, Civilian, and Intelligence customers.  Abacus has about 700 employees, average revenue base of $130 million over the past three years, and core competencies in: Information Technology Strategy and Transformation, Enterprise IT Infrastructure Solutions, Network and Communication Solutions, Systems Engineering and Integration, Cyber Security / Information Assurance, Application Development, Integration and Management Services, Infrastructure Operations and Maintenance, and Program Management. 

 

Abacus Technology is seeking a Director of Business Development and Capture Management to support business growth and marketing activities within the Federal government.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and work with collaborative teams to identify and acquire new business for Abacus and its customers.
  • Identify and target specific agencies for growth opportunities based on past performance and contract placement. 
  • Formulate strategies and plans to close on the opportunities.
  • Establish leads/contacts with potential customers, develop and provide company awareness/capabilities briefings, attend marketing/business development conferences/seminars, provide information for bid/no bid decision making, and help develop/foster teaming arrangements with other companies.
  • Prioritize and lead capture strategy.
  • Assist in the development of marketing and promotional materials, overall proposal strategy, and proposal development.

Qualifications

15+ years experience in business development, capture and marketing for U.S. Federal government contractors and demonstrated pattern of success as a leader of business strategy and capture.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.  Familiar with major Federal government procurement strategies (T&M, FFP, performance-based) and contract vehicles (GWACs/IDIQs).  Extensive experience identifying and tracking business opportunities.  Demonstrated ability to establish new contacts and nurture existing relationships with strategic customers through frequent direct interactions for collaborating on beneficial approaches and sharing corporate success stories.  Able to analyze opportunities and solicitations and appropriately assess their value to the company, resource requirements, and budgets.  Strong communication skills and excellent analytical, organizational, workflow, and problem-solving skills.  Able to cultivate solid, productive working relationships with internal managers, staff, and peers as well as partners and consultants and facilitate collaboration towards innovative solutions.  Must be willing to travel.  Must be a US citizen.

 

The projected compensation range for this position is $150,000-$175,000. There are multiple factors that can impact a final salary, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (if remote or different from the stated location for this position), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
