Purpose
Responsible for partnering with R&D functions, Finance and other cross-functional teams to build a predictive view of resourcing across R&D to drive & achieve R&D strategies, goals, and objectives. Globally influence and strategically manage resourcing linkages across the R&D functions and understand the impact of business decisions and solutions.
Develop depth of knowledge of R&D resource models to address business priority shifts, budget opportunities or constraints, helping leadership determine options and tradeoffs between scenarios. Leverage functional resource experts and Finance partners to make recommendations on how to effectively deploy available resources for R&D activities. Pressure-test and refine assumptions/outputs of models based on actual time reporting from time reporting system.
Responsibilities
Support development of high-profile strategic initiatives within the R&D organization ranging from novel R&D operating models to resourcing forecasts
•Translate strategic vision into action by effectively managing implementation of individual resourcing-related modules within complex, cross-functional initiatives, including driving the problem-solving process and supporting research and analytics, and distilling pragmatic recommendations for management consideration
•Partner with VPs and other executive level stakeholders, acting as a thought partner on key business and resourcing decisions that impact the current and future state of AbbVie.
•Bring together strategic, operational, and evidence-based support to lead and create opportunities for sustained strategic resourcing excellence across R&D functional areas.
•Bring rigorous conceptual and analytical thinking to answer key R&D questions for AbbVie leveraging internal and external intelligence and resources as required.
Qualifications
•Bachelors or equivalent degree required. Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, MBA) highly preferred.
•Minimum of 4+ with Bachelors, 3+ with Masters and 2+ with PhD years of experience in a competitive, fast paced environment such as top tier management consulting and pharmaceutical R&D
•Experience managing large projects within a complex matrixed organization as a consultant to a pharmaceutical organization, either as an external consultant or an internal cross-functional lead.
•Demonstrated ability to present data and metrics to executive leadership teams that will lead to better business outcomes.
•Recognized team player with proven facilitative leadership skills in a cross-functional global team environment. Proven performance in a matrix environment with ability to influence and align stakeholders.
•Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to interact externally and internally to support business strategy.
•Strong analytical skills. Recognized ability to evaluate complex issues from multiple perspectives
•Excellent oral and written communication skills

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
