Job Description

As a Digital Project Manager in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.

This position can be remote anywhere in the U.S.

The Digital Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and managing a variety of web and digital marketing projects. This role will collaborate directly with project sponsors/key stakeholders, team members and management to oversee all phases of project planning, and definition, while keeping all teams and documentation in sync.

In this role you’ll be responsible to:

  • Monitor and track development progress in Jira and through conversations with the team.
  • Organize and lead project status and working meetings.
  • Prepare statements of work, assuring accurate requirements and estimates.
  • Track and report on budget allocation and spend through the course of project work.
  • Work with the team to keep our product backlogs up to date, ensuring that user stories and tasks are well-defined, estimated, and aligned with project objectives, while also managing changes and updates as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between the development team and internal, facilitating clear and effective communication to manage expectations and gather feedback.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of the software lifecycle (SLC) process, including requirements analysis, design, testing, and deployment, while adhering to established best practices and methodologies.
  • Define and manage an efficient project management process.
  • Champion ongoing process improvement.
  • Support agile project delivery in a Scrum process.

  • Process design to improve ways of working

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 7 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; or PhD with 2 years’ experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager managing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies.
  • Proven ability to maintain status for multiple active digital marketing and web projects.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle and continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience managing Agile (Scrum), waterfall, and hybrid projects.
  • Ability to tailor project management processes to suit business needs and resources.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams including, but not limited to, software engineers, QA engineers, business analysts, and product managers.
  • Strong interpersonal / relationship management skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern software management and collaboration tools, e.g.:
    • Jira
    • Confluence
    • MS Teams
    • Excel and/or Smartsheet

  • Experience being responsible for managing budgets on large-scale projects.
  • Sufficient technical knowledge to communicate and coordinate activities and deliverables from engineering teams.
  • Ability to provide leadership to business analysts and collaborate with customers to develop strategies and creative solutions to business challenges.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills interacting with business and technology teams.
