Job Description

The Senior Manufacturing Manager is responsible to organize, manage, control, plan, and administer manufacturing within the Pharmaceutical/ OSD operations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Compliance with AbbVie policies and procedures, Regulatory Agencies, cGMP regulations and requirements also including Labor Law's requirements. Assure that product is manufactured following approved regulations. Assure that deviations from approved procedures are documented and investigated. Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent deviation recurrence. Approve Standard Operating Procedure (SOP’s) and Production Control Records (PCR).
  • Evaluate proposed changes to product, process, equipment, and facilities. Pre and Post Approve Validation Protocols. Identify personnel needs and establish strategy for recruiting and training of key manufacturing personnel required to support operation. Manage the manufacturing area personnel through the accomplishment of common objectives by enforcing teamwork. Assure employees are properly trained and proper training programs are established for the area personnel.
  • Coordinate activities with support areas such as: Maintenance, Warehouse, Laboratories, Utilities, Technical Support, and Quality Assurance to maintain continuity and efficiency of the operations.
  • Plan and control the manufacturing operation to meet business commitments and Plant throughput maintaining cost, manpower utilization, raw materials, equipment, and utilities usage within the approved budget. Assist upper management to develop and prepare the annual operating budget of the area.
  • Assure that manufacturing facilities and equipment are maintained in conditions that will comply with Government and Company regulations. Identify capital needs and participate in the implementation of capital projects and projects related with cost reduction, yield improvement, energy conservation, product quality, safety, and industrial hygiene to improve the overall operations.
  • Effectively communicate Master Production Schedule or process changes to affected personnel in a timely manner. Develop and implement changes that will improve equipment performance and consequently product quality in the areas of responsibilities and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Assure fulfillments of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements and compliance obligations, promote continuous improvement, and consider EHS aspects during the design and change process.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Science with a major in Engineering, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Biotechnology preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of manufacturing experience in the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or Health Care industry.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing direct reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in both English and Spanish. Strong Interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Computer literate including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong Financial acumen and budget management. Capable of handling multiple priorities at the same time.
  • Strong problem solving, strategic and negotiation skills.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​
