About The RoleAbnormal Security is looking for a Finance Manager, R&D to join the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team reporting to the Sr Director of R&D Finance. The R&D Finance team is responsible for providing strategic financial support to our R&D organization. This role will be responsible for building, owning & maintaining financial models in support of R&D. This role will help us develop the necessary product, engineering and infrastructure insights and business partnerships to support R&D.The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with demonstrated analytical strength and strong business partnering skills.What you will do• Serve as a key financial strategist for R&D, crafting financial models that align with the company's strategic objectives. Elevate financial planning from mere budget management to strategic investment in innovation, ensuring every dollar spent maximizes engineering ROI and contributes to significant ARR growth.• Establish, implement, and monitor key performance indicators to accurately reflect the financial health and operational efficiency of R&D. Lean towards reporting automation, leverage Pigment when possible.• Spearhead advanced investment analysis, applying rigorous financial and risk assessment methodologies to evaluate and prioritize R&D projects. Employ a strategic lens to investment decisions, focusing on long-term value creation and market differentiation.• Manage detailed infrastructure forecasts and control spending to meet gross margin expectations. Forecast non-Cost of Revenue (COR) infrastructure and underlying unit economics, including per product margins.• Leverage deep analytical insights to refine and optimize global operations, particularly focusing on the strategic significance of the India office. Implement benchmarking and best practices to drive continual improvement in R&D efficiency and effectiveness.• Identify and execute innovative projects to achieve aggressive infrastructure savings targets without compromising on growth or service quality. Report on progress and adapt strategies to meet evolving technological and market demands.Must Haves• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or a related field.• 5+ years of experience in FP&A, Finance, Investment Banking or Management Consulting• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and draw actionable insights.• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.• Strong project management skills, with the ability to work with ambiguity & manage multiple priorities.• Experience with forecasting and predictive analytics.• Strong sense of how to use data to answer critical business questions and are motivated by unlocking that capability across the company• Enjoy working as part of a team and are customer obsessed - always going the extra mile to deliver high quality work for your stakeholdersNice to Have• Experience in the Cyber-security and SaaS industries• Experience working in a fast growth private company in series C or above• MBA, CFA or CPA• Experience with querying big dataAt Abnormal Security certain roles are eligible for a bonus, restricted stock units (RSUs), and benefits.
