Sr Software Engineer - Backend

We are looking for a Sr Software Engineer for our multi product platform- growth team who will play a key role in shaping the smoothened e2e customer journey. Your work will enable us to rapidly scale and support more customers. You will collaborate with different folks, including product, engineering and design teams to build a world-class user experience for our customers.  

The Ideal Candidate has these skills and experience

• Experienced software engineer with 6+ years of industry experience with strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Strong at developing and maintaining heavily used APIs and developing good schema design
• Futuristic , ability to look at the bigger picture, growing system needs.  
• Growth-oriented, looking to increase impact, responsibility, and ownership over time
• Proven experience in system design and built applications at scale.
• Detail driven and care about code quality, testing, and performance
• Looking to grow as an engineer as part of a strong team, learning from established engineers, product managers, and designers.
• Guiding technically team members, peer- reviewing tech designs. 
• Technical leadership skills such as the ability to lead projects for the team, have strong knowledge about team’s owned systems, be able to provide mentorship to other team members, and have the ability to influence the team’s goals and roadmap
• Strong communication skills and proven ability to work autonomously and asynchronously with remote collaborators and stakeholders

Must Have Skills

• 6+ years of industry experience with expertise in developing production grade applications from scratch. Built using Django , python or golang. 
• Experience writing production Python or Go code. Strong engineers with experience writing in other similar language (Java, Ruby, etc.) are also considered
• Familiarity with AWS services and deployment practices.
• Knowledge of containerization using Docker or similar technologies.
• Understanding of database systems and proficiency in SQL.

What You’ll Do

1. Design and Development:
1. Design & Develop robust, scalable and secure web applications using python/Django/golang.

You will be relied upon to own the delivery of end-to-end feature-projects-- to design, decompose, execute, and launch. You will play the role of a highly capable IC, who is able to take a clearly defined business problem, and design a technical approach to implement. 

1. Ownership & Technical Leadership
1. You will be owning a section of end-to-end key deliverables within a Division's Quarterly Roadmap -- to set and deliver. 
2. Support and On-call:
1. Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by users or identified through monitoring systems and participate in on-call rotations.
3. Collaboration and Communication:
1. Communicate effectively in Async manner with team members to provide updates, discuss challenges and propose solutions.
2. You will be participating in code reviews to maintain code quality and in system design discussions.
4. Continuous Learning and Improvement:
1. Actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the team and participate in professional development activities.
