About the role
The Strategy Team at Academia is looking for a skilled analyst to help develop and refine Academia’s strategy. In this role, you will find answers to some of the biggest questions about Academia’s business, customers, and competitors, considering Academia’s positioning within the industry and the impact of evolving internal and external factors. The insights and opportunities you uncover will directly inform strategic decision-making throughout the organization. As a Strategy Analyst, you will report to Academia’s Head of Strategy, and you will frequently collaborate with the Chief Product & Growth Officer and cross-functional team members in a variety of roles and business teams. Initial projects will focus on understanding how Academia can help researchers stay up to date with developments in their fields and direct them to content and other resources that they need in their academic careers. In general, the Strategy Team’s projects will rely heavily on research and data analysis, and may involve designing, running, and interpreting surveys and experiments. The team’s scope is expected to shift and expand over time as the key strategic questions and priorities for the business evolve.
Please note that this role is in the San Francisco Bay Area. We're excited to have a packed and lively office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Twice a week, those of us in the Bay Area come to our office located in the Financial District for All Hands, intense collaboration, brainstorming activities, and fun events. There are small rooms for 1-1 mentoring sessions or heads down work, and larger rooms for team activities.
