Job Description
Coordinate/manage the academic advising and administrative matters pertaining to the on campus MBA programs (Pre MBA, MBA, and MBAX) in the College of Business and Public Management.
The College of Business and Public Management (CBPM) seeks to hire a part-time, non-instructional adjunct faculty member to provide various advising services to students in the MBA Programs on the La Verne Campus.
The workload and compensation will be comparable to teaching a course with 160 hours in a semester, roughly about 10 hours a week for a 16 week semester. The assignment can be renewed each semester based on satisfactory performance and up to 3 consecutive assignments may be made per academic year (Fall, Spring, and Summer). Most work can be performed remotely and/or in the evenings and weekends, although some work will need to be performed in person on the La Verne campus, roughly about 20% of the 10 hours per week during the daytime work hours. The position requires a master’s degree in business administration or related fields. The University of La Verne MBA graduates are encouraged to apply. Job Duties
Be the primary contact and support for students enrolled in the MBA programs (Pre MBA, MBA, and MBAX). Provide routine advising to students enrolled in the programs. Maintain the files of all assigned advisees. Track the academic development of these students.
Contact, at the beginning of each session, the non-registered advisees to determine their status, document the reasons for the lack of registering, and compile the data. Maintain retention data and follow up with non-registered advisees.
Respond to current or potential student inquiries about the MBA programs (Pre MBA, MBA, and MBAX) and support the marketing efforts of the programs by working with the marketing directors where appropriate.
Publish the session-by-session class schedule, prepare and track students, maintain the MBA Village and other electronic sites.
Review and identify eligible graduates to be cleared or not cleared for graduation.
Plan and manage the logistics, coordination and administration of the MBA programs (Pre MBA, MBA, and MBAX) and program events such as: receptions, orientations, board meetings, etc.

Required Qualifications
Evidence of computer literacy and experience with standard computer software such as Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Zoom/WebEx, and LinkedIn.
Some familiarity with academic advising, personal counseling, career guidance, and/or academic program management. Training will be provided.
Demonstrated understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, cultural background, disability, and sexual orientation of college students, faculty, and staff.
Ability to meet with students in person, phone, email, and virtually.
Possession of a master’s degree in business administration or related fields.
Evidence of skills and knowledge of problem solving, conflict resolution, and customer service.
General knowledge of MBA program requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in Banner, DegreeWorks, Blackboard, Qualtrics, Slate, and LinkedIn.
Experience in academic advising/mentoring college students.
Significant professional work experience

Adjunct Instructor (no terminal degree): $27.04
Adjunct Professor (with terminal degree): $28.08
