The Opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University’s Online Academic Support Center is looking for an Online Academic Coach. The Academic Coach supports student learning skills in the SNHU Global Campus online learning environment. You will report to the Manager of Academic Support.
Schedule:
You will work 40 hours, 5 days per week. At least 1/3 of a FT Academic Coach’s prescheduled student-facing time (workshops and bookable 1:1 meetings) will be scheduled during our highest volume times as defined by student traffic data reports. Typically, the busiest times are Thursday evening, and Friday 5pm - Sunday 10pm. This is a remote-friendly position (#LI-Remote).
In this Role You'll Get To:

You will support dispositional and learning skills development at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

You will engage in relationship-based student coaching to support the growth of transferable learning, and executive function skills through synchronous 1:1 and small group sessions.

You will work with groups of students through dedicated, short-term, small group facilitation that foster learning through peer collaboration, social-emotional learning environments, and confidence-building.

You will cross-train to support neuro-divergent learning differences due to dyslexia, ADHD, autism, anxiety disorders, and PTSD.

You will participate in learning resource-building as needed; for example, creation of tutorial videos, static handouts, workshops, online interactives, etc.

You will positively affect retention and success of online students by providing exceptional student support and fostering engaging learning experiences.

You will develop a strong understanding of university supports and resources.

You will maintain confidentiality of all student records and information shared during tutoring sessions.

You may have other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What we're Looking For:

Master’s degree in psychology, education, or special education.

Two + years of experience supporting adult learners in higher education.

Maintain an established schedule, ensuring attendance and punctuality, and communicate with managers.

Quiet work environment with reliable hard-wired internet access.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Comfort level with learning new online systems and technologies.

Experience supporting neuro-divergent learners.

Knowledgeable of learning behaviors and executive function skills.
