Job Summary


The Academic Scheduling Manager is responsible for overseeing the development of the college's academic course schedules and final exams working directly with the academic schools to ensure courses are accurate and meet the various regulatory requirements. The Manager schedules rooms for the academic courses and builds and maintains the course catalog and classes. The incumbent serves as liaison between the Registrar's Office and academic schools regarding issues of course scheduling and academic space utilization.
The Manager collaborates on the college's course schedule for fall, spring and summer semesters and supports the University System of Georgia's eCore classes, Georgia Film Academy and other USG course initiatives. The Manager is responsible for updating the college catalog using a task-specific software. The incumbent provides support for the Registrar's Office at college commencements and orientations.
The individual plays a key role in fostering a positive work environment with the expectation of continuous improvement and first-class customer service. The incumbent provides leadership to the Enrollment Management Services Division. Collaborative and team-oriented skills with a commitment to student success and diversity are essential attributes for the individual in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and builds all semester schedules and sets up terms utilizing 25Live and Banner; uses 25Live for course scheduling and Banner interface which requires a knowledge of room attributes, scheduling reports, and general course scheduling procedures
  • Administers all aspects of academic scheduling and course inventory; advises and works with faculty and academic coordinators on scheduling issues; coordinates with eCore and Georgia Film Academy for scheduling
  • Establishes best practices for a decentralized schedule production and course availability; supports USG initiatives of Study Abroad, Learning Communities, and directed studies courses
  • Maintains the catalog, the schedule in Banner and the official college catalog; manages the editing and maintenance of Banner course information ensuring the catalog inventory is updated according to approved course and curriculum updates
  • Creates, maintains and revises all scheduling related training and process documentation by following established policies and procedures relating to the course schedule
  • Creates reports to analyze course information in collaboration with the office of Enrollment Management Technology
  • Participates in the Registrar's Office registration activities to include registration of continuing students, assisting with drop/add requests and prerequisite questions, and assisting with Grizzly Orientation new student registration sessions
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
  • Three or more years of work experience in a registrar's office or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years of Banner experience
  • Two years CollegeNET's 25Live or other related scheduling software
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner student systems including DegreeWorks

  • Knowledge of Ellucian Banner student systems including DegreeWorks
  • Knowledge of room attributes, scheduling reports, and general course scheduling procedures
