Database Administrator

Access Softek is looking for an experienced MS SQL Database Administrator to join our DBA team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of Microsoft SQL Server databases. This role requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for database technologies and a commitment to ensuring optimal database performance and security.


What You Will Do:
  • Database Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor database performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Security Management: Implement and manage security measures to protect data integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, and failover processes to ensure data recovery and continuity.
  • High Availability: Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Always On Availability Groups.
  • Data Migration: Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades with minimal downtime.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database access and performance issues promptly.
  • Automation: Create scripts and use automation tools to streamline database administration tasks.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with application developers and other IT staff to support new and existing applications.
  • Compliance: Ensure databases comply with organizational policies and industry regulations.


What We Expect
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an MS SQL Database Administrator.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale databases in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (versions 2016/2019 and above).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and database schema design.
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Knowledge of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
  • Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS) is a plus.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and ETL processes is advantageous.
