Philosophy and Culture

Belonging is a basic human need and is at the heart of our inclusion journey. When coworkers freely and respectfully bring their authentic selves and unique perspectives to work, we all become better… better collaborators, bolder innovators and stronger drivers of business results. CDW is committed to creating a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion, where everyone feels they belong.

Business Resource Groups

The CDW Business Resource Groups (BRGs) play an important role in promoting an inclusive culture. They provide professional development, informal mentoring and networking opportunities to members. BRGs also provide a forum for coworkers to build awareness, celebrate their affinity area, collaborate with other BRGs and provide business perspective on diversity and inclusion initiatives at CDW. Our BRGs include:

  • Alliance for Business Leading Equality (Individuals with Disabilities)
  • Black Excellence Unlimited
  • Business Resource Alliance Valuing Equality (LGBTQ )
  • Hispanic Organization for Leadership & Achievement
  • Military & Allies Resource Council
  • Pan Asian Council
  • Women's Opportunity Network
  • Business Resource Inclusion and Diversity Group for Everyone

Initiatives and Programs

  • Inclusive Leadership: Our leadership model reflects our strategic intent to foster an environment of inclusion, equity and belonging. All CDW leaders receive ongoing training and support, starting with our Mastering Inclusion workshop. We also hold monthly brown-bag discussions that provide an opportunity to listen and share insights on topical issues. In 2021, we launched a “playbook” to help CDW leaders champion DEI and incorporate it into their day-to-day actions and interactions.
  • Unconscious Bias Training: All coworkers take part in a transformative program aimed at educating on how they can be more inclusive. They are also provided with tools to apply what they've learned.
  • Continuing to Educate: In 2020, we launched our Educate, Participate, Advocate campaign - An answer to the question “What can I do” that aligns us on what we can do to build a more equitable and inclusive environment at CDW.  In 2021, we implemented a new microlearning platform that gives coworkers useful learning tips relevant to DEI and overall professional development.
  • CDW Legacy Excellence Program: In February 2022, we announced the launch of the CDW Legacy Excellence Program, a partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and four Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This program focuses on creating a pathway for diverse students toward careers and leadership in the technology industry, including scholarships, internships and job opportunities with CDW. It will also address digital equity in schools and communities by helping to close the digital divide.
  • Supplier Diversity: Through our supplier diversity program, CDW generates business opportunities that position diverse suppliers for economic sustainability, yield competitive advantages for CDW and deliver exceptional technology experiences for our customers through innovation.

Recognized for Doing the Right Thing

To earn the trust of our coworkers, customers, suppliers, communities and shareholders, words aren’t enough. So we focus on meaningful actions, now more than ever. The accolades suggest we’re succeeding and not letting up.

CDW has been on a purposeful inclusion journey since 2007. We’ve made solid strides, like the evolution of our Business Resource Groups, more inclusive recruiting and hiring practices, inclusive benefit programs, the transformative Ignite Inclusion program and most recently our Educate, Participate, Advocate initiative.

Today, we know there is still much work to be done, and we’re doubling down on our commitment to making our inclusion vision a reality. We’re holding ourselves accountable for meaningful, rapid change, always guided by the CDW Way. Our journey continues.

About Us

We make technology work so people can do great things.

At CDW, collaboration and connection is in our DNA. It’s why we’re not just colleagues, we’recoworkers. Coworkers who genuinely believe in doing the right thing by our customers and one another. Alongside leaders we trust, we collectively forge our path forward with a level of compassion and mutual commitment that speaks to who we are and where we’re headed.

Our values, trust, connection and commitment, reflect what beliefs guide our CDW Way actions and behaviors.

Our Values & The CDW Way
Trust, Connection, Commitment

  • Trust: We earn trust because we act with integrity and respect and a commitment to equality in everything we do. We are reliable.
  • Connection: We are connected, inclusive, caring and collaborative. We do hard things together, and we make it fun.
  • Commitment: We keep our promises. We make IT happen with passion and urgency. We always continue learning, improving, and growing.
Our Culture

From coders to creatives, tech gurus to sales pros, our people are the heart of our business. We call them coworkers - not employees - because we’re all members of the same CDW team. Every single person, regardless of level or location, plays a part in our success. At CDW, you can make a difference.

MARC members also strengthen connections between CDW and the military community through community service and volunteer opportunities.
