OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
- The Assistant Director under the supervision of IDD Regional Director will be responsible to implement and oversee a diverse community integration and support services for people with varying degrees of developmental disabilities and complex medical needs and co-occurring disorders.
- The Assistant Director will be leading a highly trained team of supervisory staff and direct support professionals of varying levels and partners with an interdisciplinary team which includes behavior clinicians, nurses, care managers, counselors, therapists and other staff members.
- The Assistant Director promotes expertise in providing a broad range of behavioral health care, crisis, community support, and coordination services designed to meet the needs of adults with both mental illness and developmental disabilities.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
In this position, the Assistant Director will also have the following major responsibilities:
- Leads the development of skill and attainment of knowledge to facilitate quality service delivery, developing a strong, dynamic customer satisfaction focused and innovative work force. The Assistant Director ensures respect for each person’s and his/her family’s life choices and individuality, facilitating quality outcomes for the people served and the community.
- Inspires and promotes customer satisfaction.
- Participates in the Corporate Planning process and is committed to the delivery of mutually agreed upon outcomes.
- Ensures compliance and quality in service delivery that meets or exceeds federal, state and professional standards.
- Maintains all licenses and certifications required for the operation of Day Habilitation services and training certifications.
- Partners with Quality Assurance on utilization review and utilization management for Day Services to ensure level of care criteria are met and service delivery is appropriate for the needs of recipients and requirement of all payers.
- Under the supervision of IDD Regional Director partners with finance on budget development and implementation and manages multiple cost centers at multiple locations to maximize revenue and control expenses.
- Provides community on call coverage as assigned.
- Fulfill duties as assigned by the IDD Regional Director and /or Senior Leadership.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:
- Actively involved in committees, work groups, and CQL activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, as well as, organizational and planning skills
- Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Possess sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics
- Ability to organize, multitask and prioritize duties and responsibilities efficiently
- Ability to work independently
- Computer literacy
- Must maintain current license/certification/training
- Possess a valid driver’s license, work eligibility status and have an excellent driving record
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation or a related field with a minimum of five years of related and progressively responsible leadership and supervisory experience in a similar industry or field. Experience supporting individuals with Autism and complex behavioral challenges and familiar with ABA, PECS and TEECH.

- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preference considered with any candidate that is certified as a Train-The Trainer in areas of SCIP, 1st Aid, CPR, PROMOTE, DSP Core Competency, Council on Quality and Leadership
