Job Description

With one of the leaders in our Sales & Marketing department going on parental leave, there is the opportunity for a Business Development Manager to take on a fixed-term contract, and drive the hotel's growth. 

This role requires a proactive individual with a strong focus on strategic sales, networking, and market analysis, to manage and develop business relationships across key market segments, including MICE, Corporate, Entertainment, and Sporting teams. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs), agents, corporate clients, and Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre to proactively source new business.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends, providing actionable insights to hotel leadership and revenue management teams.
  • Prepare and negotiate tenders, rates, and terms to secure new business while hosting site inspections and presentations for potential and current clients.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to ensure seamless implementation of new business, fostering excellence in customer service and repeat business opportunities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve budget targets and ensure exceptional customer service, contributing to the hotel's long-term success. The below experience and skills will be advantageous to your application. 

  • Proven experience in business development or sales within the hospitality, events, or related industries.
  • Familiarity with Brisbane’s market segments, including MICE, Corporate, Entertainment, Sporting, and Leisure.
  • Strong Communication and Presentation: For conducting tenders, site inspections, and engaging clients to secure business deals and achieve revenue targets.
  • Organisational and time management skills to handle multiple accounts, appointments, and operational coordination seamlessly.
