About the Opportunity
The accountant is responsible for all accounting functions for PBSNC's Foundation, including the preparation of financial statements, financial analysis, and annual audits. This position reviews contractual agreements, including terms and conditions, to ensure accurate reporting of grants and commitments. The accountant oversees all receipt processing for PBSNC, managing treasury functions for the Station and the Foundation and working closely with internal teams on reconciliations and reporting needs. The position supervises an accounting technician and includes campus voucher processing for PBSNC.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid or remote work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

About the Team
PBS North Carolina’s Operations/Management Division, which includes Human Resources and Finance, is responsible for driving operations and ensuring strategic alignment and compliance across all aspects of the organization in order to achieve its mission and vision. Operations/Management is responsible for administering PBS NC's financial affairs and for the administrative operations of PBS NC, and for ensuring compliance with and reporting of state, federal, and university financial and technology regulations.
Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
Minimum requirements include a master's degree and 1-2 years of experience; or a bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
