Job Description

The Accounting Intern will assist the accounting team in the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Accounting department. The duties of this position will require the ability to assist in the volume of transactions and activity. This position will support various aspects of the financial accounting and tax reporting cycle.

Support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close, during the monthly close calendar
Assist with the audit process, including - preparation, or review of requested schedules, testing of internal controls, and preparation of financial statements
Perform and/or review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
Perform various accounting activities including review and preparation of bank reconciliations and journal entries related to the banking transactions, monthly rent sweep returns, stripe fees, property/entity cash roll up, etc.
Assist with process improvements
Work on special projects and analyses as directed by management.
Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Coordinate with departments to obtain any necessary information for the close process
Analyze trends with focus on income and expenses, in comparison to historical data and budget, and prepare variance explanations
Support Accounting Manager and Director of Accounting with requests for information from partners, auditors, and many constituents across the organization
Help establish and maintain policies, procedures and controls.

Requirements

Candidate must be currently enrolled in an Accounting (or related) MS program
Candidate should be taking courses with an emphasis in accounting or taxation
Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
