About the Role
As the Accounting Manager, you will work on all accounting and financial aspects of Double including, but not limited to; A/R, A/P, monthly closing, expenses management, cash flows, and reporting aspects of the organization.
The right person for the position is a roll-up-their-sleeves, get-stuff-done individual with a strong background in corporate accounting and the ability to collaborate and strategize with key stakeholders, ideally in a venture-backed high-growth company. This position reports directly to the CEO and will collaborate with all departments at Double. This is a 100% remote opportunity but if you are in the Brooklyn, NY area, you may choose to take advantage of our HQ Office.
What You Will Do
Own the monthly A/R billing processes in our internal and external systems, and collaborate closely with our Customer Success team on all requests from clients related to billing- Manage our A/P and expense platform, procedures, corporate card management, and reimbursements for our team members
- Perform general cost accounting and analysis with Operations and manage the biweekly contractor payment cycles
- Oversee and improve current accounting processes and systems to help scale the organization, in close partnership with our Product Team
- Own the monthly close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations as well as KPI reporting, and variance analysis with department heads and the CEO
- Collaborate with the CEO and Head of People on compliance, investor relations, preparation of board meetings, and other ad-hoc projects
- Actively manage the relationship with external financial providers like accounting firms, auditors, banking partners
- Opportunity to grow into FP&A and build financial models for the strategic budgeting processes across the organization
Who You Are
You have an advanced degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent work experience- You have at least 5 years of experience in Finance (a background in accounting and CPA are a plus)
- You have a good understanding of US GAAP (IFRS a plus)
- You have strong knowledge of modern accounting and financial systems (our finance stack includes: QBO, Ramp, Wise, Stripe, Carta)
- You have advanced analytical skills in Excel/Google Sheets (SQL, VBA, Google Scripts, and Mode reporting are a plus)
