Accounting Manager

BrightFarms is at the forefront of transforming the way we grow and distribute leafy greens in the United States. The Company currently operates 16 acres of production at 6 greenhouse farms in the Northeast and Midwest and is in the process of building new regional hubs that will increase the Company’s production by 50 acres over the next 3 years. The Company is looking for an Accounting Manager that will oversee and manage the general accounting functions and have two to three direct reports. This position will report to the Senior Controller. The candidate must work well as part of a diverse team with varying ideas and work styles. This position is based out of BrightFarms’ headquarters in Irvington, NY, steps away from the Metro North Hudson Line and can offer a partially remote work schedule.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the general accounting department
• Monthly update of fixed assets including managing of assets register
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
• Plan, implement and supervise the company’s financial strategy
• Manage the company’s financial accounts, payrolls, budget, accounts payable, accounts receivables, cash receipts including daily bank reconciliation and financial assets
• Follow proper accounting procedures to reach financial objectives
• Create financial reports based on data analysis
• Analytical review of income statement
• Monthly preparation of financial statements
• Monthly reconciliation of asset & liability accounts

• Documentation of key accounting processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent accounting experience, CPA preferred
• 5-7 years of experience working in manufacturing/ corporate accounting, with increasing levels of responsibility
• Extensive knowledge of accounting practices and procedures in a tangible goods environment
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle or SAP.
• Ability to display profit orientation and business results focus. Demonstrates business partnering ability and focus on business results
• Ability to communicate in non-technical terms and present analysis in an understandable and concise manner
• Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines
• Strong experience in the manufacturing / CPG industry required
• Ability to be successful in a dynamic and fluid environment.
• Strong relationship building and influencing skills.
