Overview
The Associate Corporate Development Analyst role will provide support and be a vital resource for our Corporate Development and Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and quantitatively strong individual to gain hands-on strategic finance experience. The analyst will receive accounting and finance training and will be provided the opportunity to support the end-to-end deal (M&A) lifecycle: strategy formulation, financial valuation, deal structuring, negotiations, due diligence, and post-merger integration. The role will also provide the opportunity to explore, structure, and execute technology partnerships, while working alongside seasoned professionals in the field.
The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day tasks as well as strategic initiatives for both the Corporate Development and Finance organizations. We're looking for someone who can perform both quantitative and qualitative analysis and help identify, quantify, and develop plans for capturing value in both deal and operational contexts. In short, you're great at thinking, great at explaining, and great at doing!
Role Logistics
You will report directly to the VP of Corporate Development, a member of Acquia's Executive Leadership Team (ELT), with a dotted line to the Director of FP&A. The Analyst will get exposure to other members of Acquia's ELT, including the CEO, CFO, Business Unit GMs, and CTO/CSO. This role is based on Acquia's Boston Headquarters, with the expectation to work from the office Monday through Thursday, for the first year of employment. We believe a candidate in this role will benefit the most from in-person coaching, development, and oversight.
What you'll be responsible for:
Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential acquisition targets and strategic partners in various industries and regions
Assisting in the due diligence process, including financial analysis, market analysis, and competitive analysis
Supporting the negotiation and execution of M&A deals, joint ventures, and other strategic partnerships
Developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, including target companies, investors, and industry experts
Supporting the development and implementation of the company's business development strategy, including channel partnerships, technology partnerships, and strategic alliances
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, sales, marketing, and legal, to drive successful outcomes for the company
What you'll need to be successful:
BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent practical experience
Interest and background in business and technology
Work well as part of a team; however, has the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent project management skills
A willingness to learn and be coached
Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
