My client, a well known global retail chain, is looking for a contract Graphic/Package Designer to start ASAP through February- will be FULLY ONSITE IN FRAMINGHAM MA LOCATION!Senior Packaging Designer is an integral member of a cross-functional team who delivers trend forward brand packaging solutions, enabling the businesses and brands to evolve across our global divisions. As the creative force responsible for driving the development of all packaging and branding across selected categories, you will oversee supplier relationships to ensure the packaging quality and deadlines are met. Partners in collaboration with Product Development and Buyers in identifying and creating successful brand packaging. You will direct team members: freelancers and contractors in the design, content and execution of trend-right branding solutions.Responsibilities:Oversees the creation of trend forward brand packaging across various home categoriesPartners with product development and merchandising to fill lifestyle needs by product category. Influences the organization on design decisionsPartners with the Sr. Product Development Managers, Trend Teams and Divisional Manager to create compelling brand packagingEnsures the quality of the vendor’s packaging through an established approval process and ensures all deadlines are metCreates and directs brand packaging for a wide variety of products (boxes, hangtags, labels, etc).Prioritizes and directs designers, freelancers, interns and/or contractors in design and content creation.Follow-through from conception to shelf – providing approvals and overseeing successful execution of all components before press and delivery. Communicate with product development and regulatory teams throughout the design process, including reviewing and proofing packagingMaintains a strict adherence to T&A and deadlines. Establishes parameters of acceptable tolerances in print/color/construction while developing and implementing methods to improve efficienciesManages the photography and photography requirements for packages. Directs styling, ensures photo quality, content, and that timeline requirements are metPartners with legal and trademark administrator in researching new brand names, and ensures all legal/trademark requirements are metPerforms special projects as assigned-Who We Are Looking For: You.BFA or related degree in design preferredA minimum of 5-8 years design related experienceProven results managing multi-disciplinary design teams or designersDemonstrated experience guiding business stakeholders through the design process, delivering vision and adhering to brand integrityAbility to think across multiple platforms including product, merchandising and new forms of brand communicationManagement experience to influence, drive change and drive vision is requiredIn depth knowledge of design and cultural trends to develop cohesive design solutionsExcellent sense of color, type and styleStrong leadership, organizational, communication and presentation skillsAbility to prioritize, handle multiple projects and works well under pressureFluency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) as well as supporting office programs
