Adecco Permanent Recruitment is seeking a National Grocery Account Manager for our client in the Food and Beverage industry. This role will manage large grocery chain accounts at the HQ level.The ideal candidate will have at least 2-4 years of experience managing corporate relationships with grocery chains (Kroger, Walmart, Costco, Target, for example), and a background in the Snacks or Confectionary space (not meats, dairy, alcohol, or tobacco). Ideally, the candidate will reside in the Santa Ana or Newport Beach area, but the position is open to fully remote, based on experience.This position offers a strong starting salary + bonus plan ($90-100k before bonus) in addition to comprehensive benefits. Please see additional details below:Duties:• Develops and implements strategies to maintain and/or expand sales to achieve corporate goals.• Prepares a plan for each account to identify and meet short and long-term needs.• Forecasts the demand for product(s) within the North American market.• Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.• Travels through the North American market to visit brokers, distributors and retail establishments to promote the sale of company products.• Makes initial contacts with key personnel of targeted customers and builds a strong business rapport.• Interfaces with customers to understand the customers’ overall objectives and requirements.• Contacts customers on a regular basis to maintain account relationships, advise customers of new product and service offerings, and obtains feedback on products.• Shares details with customers on additional offerings to provide value added service.• Serves as a point of escalation for issues or activities that the customer encounters related to product sales.• Expedites the resolution of customer problems/complaints.• Conducts pre-contract liaisons with customers and negotiates contract terms and conditions.• Prepares quotations and credit terms for new customers in accordance with company policy.• Prepares and reviews sales contracts for orders obtained.• Displays, demonstrates, presents and/or distributes samples, emphasizing salable features of the products and introducing new products at customers’ sites.• Participates in trade shows by representing the organization and sharing information on products.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or equivalent from a four-year college or university• 2-4 years of account management experience in the Grocery space at the HQ level.• Relationship experience with retailers, brokers, and distributors.
