Responsibilities:
New York Institute of Technology is looking for part-time faculty to teach its newly developed Data Literacy course at both its Long Island (Old Westbury) and Manhattan campuses. Data 101 introduces students to the power of data as applied to real-life events in today’s data-driven world. Students will learn basic statistical concepts, how to identify reliable data, and to think critically about how to extract meaning from such data. Although the course focuses on data and statistics, it is truly an interdisciplinary course in which instructors are expected to derive humanistic discussions around topics such as data efficacy and ethics, while drawing examples from their own disciplines such as psychology, biology, math, etc.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates should have a master's degree from an accredited university-PhDs are preferred-with some teaching experience at the university level. Faculty who will be assigned to teach the course in the Fall 2023 semester will receive a syllabus they can customize in addition to various resources in Canvas, New York Tech's learning management software.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.
Adjunct Faculty offered hourly rate is contingent on applicable rank.
Minimum Salary: USD $93.00/Hr. Maximum Salary: USD $102.00/Hr.
