Early Childhood Education Instructor

We are recruiting experienced early childhood educators and leaders to teach in our Bachelor of Arts program for Early Childhood education.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide program orientation, guidance, ongoing mentorship, and collaboration to practicum students
  • Serve as the liaison between the practicum site, supervising professionals, and students
  • Using interactive lesson planning, provide students with ongoing formative and summative assessments during the semester. Allocate time to meet with the student and supervising professionals to discuss progress.
  • Reviews lesson & unit plans designed by UMass Global and ECE students.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or Master’s Degree in Teaching with a Multiple Subjects Credential
  • Three years of experience working directly with children ages zero to eight
  • Extensive experience working in the early childhood education profession, knowledge of theory and practice of child growth and development.

The following salary range reflects compensation paid for a 3-unit course (101.25 hours) and varies based on the faculty member’s course assignment (see the full Adjunct Compensation Policy for details including varying credit levels):

  • Undergraduate course assignment: $3348 per course

  • Graduate course assignment: $3748 per course

All course sections are taught online via Blackboard. Synchronous lectures, when required, are held Monday-Thursday on Zoom starting between 3-7pm PST.

Contracts are 10 weeks (1 week designated for prep, 8 weeks of instruction, 1 week for processing final grades).
