Salary listed does not include the 5% premium pay granted to all King County employees.
This position receives an on-site 24/7 facility 5% premium which is not included in the salary listed above.

We're looking for an Administrative Assistant 3 to join our team help complete suitability assessments, working toward the common goal of eliminating child and youth outcome disparities based on race and ethnicity. The Opportunity:

Are you an organized individual who can prioritize and meet deadlines? We need your administrative experience at Echo Glen Children's Center to perform confidential administrative and secretarial duties for the Associate Superintendents and others at a Juvenile Rehabilitation institution. You will be a critical liaison between administrators and line staff.


Some of what you will do:

  • Facilitate, organize, and coordinate internal institution-wide recruitment process using the applicant tracking system NeoGov.
  • Review and verify juvenile court documents for completeness and accuracy and resolves discrepancies with sentence computations.
  • Review, verify, and enter juvenile offender convictions ensuring required and related documents are completed and processed in compliance with state and facility policies.
  • Ensure required reports, referrals, legally-required notifications, and related documents are completed and processed in compliance with policies, Washington Administrative Code, and the Revised Code of Washington.
  • Establish procedures for and interpret/apply administrative policies to the work unit.
  • Coordinate, compile, organize, and report data for special projects and monthly summaries.
  • Attend meetings as the supervisor's representative and provide information and report conclusions to supervisor's units.
  • Maintain the master staffing and facility schedule.
  • Identify vacancies and personnel movement to accurately report out to management.
  • Maintain organizational charts.
  • Ensure all employees are entered into the DCYF outlook user system.
  • Serve on standing committees, task forces, and workgroups.

What we're looking for:
High School graduation or GED;

AND

Three years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work.

Formal education will substitute year-for-year for experience.

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:

  • Previous demonstrated knowledge of office procedures/practices, business management practices, research methods, data collections, communication/correspondence practices, and principles/practices of supervision.
  • Previous demonstrated ability to work independently and read, understand, and interpret policies and procedures.
  • Ability to develop written reports, work effectively with others, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Previous demonstrated ability to key and/or type accurately at a net speed of 50 words per minute or faster
