Primary Purpose:
Assist Coordinators with the Welcome Center, handle campus requests for testing materials and professional development needs and support Multilingual Department Staff.
Qualifications/Skills:
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Minimum Assessment Standard: Broad knowledge of MS Word.
Proficient word processing and email skills.
Ability to operate various office equipment.
Human relation skills.
Ability to exercise good judgment in performing responsibilities.
Computer literate.
Fluent in English and Spanish (speaking and writing).
Experience:
Previous secretarial and/or clerical experience.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Communication/Reception and Phones:
Interview and assist parents and students in the testing and pre-registration process.
Answer incoming calls, take reliable messages and route to appropriate staff.
Schedules testing appointments for families.
Clerical Support:
Prepare testing materials and environment.
Maintain Welcome Center database.
Request STAAR and TELPAS information from the Assessment Department.
Request LPAC records from other Texas schools.
Complete and send student information documents to campuses.
Prepare LPAC folders for submittal to campuses.
Enter immigrant information into Skyward based on Home Language Survey information.
Submit orders for tests and office supplies.
Support Multilingual Department Staff with training preparation.
Other:
Participate in cross training.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintain emotional control under stress.
Work with frequent interruptions.
This position requires regular interacting with the public.
Physical Demands:
Repetitive hand motions.
Prolonged use of the computer.
Frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling.
Moving small stacks of textbooks, boxes, equipment and other campus equipment.
