  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office – specifically Word, Outlook, Excel, and OneDrive
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and complete work in a timely manner to meet established deadlines
  • Interact with, train and assist others in a courteous and professional manner, using good judgment and initiative
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills in diverse work situations, working as a team member and making independent decisions as needed
  • Ability to communicate clearly, follow instructions, and give instructions to others
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to write effectively with correct grammar, spelling, and tone

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a university environment, preferably an academic department
  • Experience using Texas State systems, specifically but not limited to – SAP, Banner, CatsWeb, Logi, CourseLeaf
  • Bachelor’s degree or hours towards a Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of Texas State academic policies and procedures

Job Description
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is seeking a skilled and motivated individual for an influential full-time staff position. This person will provide administrative and clerical support to faculty, staff, and students of the department. This position is in-person on the San Marcos campus.

Job Duties
Job duties include working with the department chair and program coordinators to schedule classes, maintain room reservation system, coordinate purchasing and manage payments, assist faculty with travel arrangements, coordinate student evaluations of teaching, assist coordinators with program tasks, aid students in academic matters (e.g., registration), greet visitors, answer phones, respond to emails, support hiring efforts, and other clerical jobs as assigned.
