Statement of Job:

The University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston Auburn Campus is seeking applicants for an Administrative Specialist. This position will support the Director of the Lewiston Auburn Campus who is also the Coordinator of Undergraduate Nursing Education with campus operations, building community relationships, and data and process management for the School of Nursing’s undergraduate program.

This Administrative Specialist position will pay a starting rate of $18.22/hour for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee with the University of Maine System. This position is a full-time position based on our Lewiston Campus.

The Lewiston Auburn Campus is in an exciting transformational period as we invigorate the campus as a healthcare education corridor for central Maine. This will enhance our existing strengths in programs such as nursing, occupational therapy, social behavioral sciences, and health sciences at the campus and establish new programs.

The Administrative Specialist performs tasks that are diverse in scope. These include internal and external contacts with students, staff, faculty, academic departments, and community members, access to confidential information, management of data through spreadsheets and university systems, and administration of policies and procedures. Maintaining confidentiality and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize is essential. Judgment and initiative are frequently exercised, and work is typically performed under general rather than specific instruction. This role does not require any prior healthcare experience and would include the opportunity to work one day per week remotely after the initial onboarding/orientation period.

This position provides a terrific opportunity to pursue a degree or advanced degree through the university’s generous tuition waiver benefit.

It embraces an inclusive campus community that values the expression of differences in ways that promote excellence in teaching, learning, personal development, and institutional success. USM encourages women, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and people from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds to apply.

We live our USM Service Promise: Student Focused Every Day. We are looking for a team member who understands that promise and supports our core values: Respect & Care, Integrity, Equity and Responsiveness.
