Administrative Support I

Primary Purpose: Provides administrative support for the Faculty Support Services department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides general administrative support and serve as liaison between faculty and student body.
  • Provide word processing in the production of legal documents, correspondence, class work, books, articles, exams, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, and other documents.
  • Functions include typing, editing, scanning, copying, mailing, faxing, and proofreading documents.
  • Assists students with special needs in the transcription of examinations and preparation of materials for special projects.
  • Transcribes dictation.
  • Assists with receiving, sorting and distributing mail.
  • Answers the College of Law switchboard calls and direct calls to the appropriate department.
  • Assists faculty in problem-solving for computer problems.
  • Administrative support for other departments, as needed.
  • Maintains a collaborative work environment and works well with others
  • Other duties as assigned by Faculty Support Services and other departments on campus.

High School diploma required. AA/AS preferred. 1-3 years of experience with an administrative support/clerical role required. Working knowledge of the computer, printer, scanner, copy machine and fax machine. Must be able to meet deadlines and maintain a consistent, dependable and regular work schedule. Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, and to maintain positive and collaborative relationships with others. Should possess good written and verbal communication skills. A high level of organization, flexibility, multi-tasking, judgment, interpersonal skills and follow-through are required. The ability to maintain confidentiality is a must. Establish and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships both internally and externally. Works to build an environment that promotes and facilitates the success of Diversity and Inclusive Excellence. Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours when required.
