Position Description Summary/Purpose:
The Admissions Advisor is a full-time position responsible for evaluating domestic and international transcripts and creating transfer credit evaluations.
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

- Evaluate transcripts from other post-secondary institutions for the purpose of awarding transfer credit; including credit for any applicable College Board Advanced Placement credits, College Level Examination Program credits and/or credits earned through the military or acceptable correspondence programs.
- Consistently update TES with new transfer equivalencies; maintain the database of 2 and 4-year college equivalencies.
- Make judgments about how courses transfer and determine which courses satisfy academic requirements.
- Meet with students to consult about credit transferability. Defend the admission decision, credit evaluation, and explain necessary corrective requirements.
- Develop and maintain existing procedures and processes to evaluate transfer credit for applicants to various academic programs.
- Research and resolve credit evaluation issues. Ensure accuracy and conformity with University requirements to maintain institutional academic integrity.
- Communicate with internal and external customers regarding admission policies, transfer policies, procedure and decisions.
- Be knowledgeable about the University of Bridgeport programs, features, facilities, scholarships and financial aid opportunities. Be able to articulate same in a professional, consistent manner.
- Assist with University-sponsored events such as Open Houses and webinars
- Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
- Assist with undergraduate travel.
- Assist with application review, walk-ins and outreach as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Functions:
- Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
- Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
- Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

Education, Training and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- Prior experience in university admissions, transfer admissions, higher education environment preferred but not required
