We are Looking for:
The Set Designer will design and create backdrops for live streaming online content. This role will need an understanding of studio TV production and client branding. The Set Designer will collaborate with many other departments in order to get their vision approved and bring their design to life. Must have excellent design and organization skills, with a creative eye for problem-solving. This is a fully on-site position.
Job Responsibilities:
Works closely with Lead Designer for Studio and Events, director, producers, and other key stakeholders to ensure feasibility of design.
Designs broadcast studio sets and branded environments.
Performs food styling duties as needed (i.e. sourcing food, cooking food, styling food within set).
Develops research, mood boards, conceptualization, and sketches to establish a design process within the set design.
Sources, develops, and manages outside vendors as needed to execute on creative ideas, finishes, colors, and textures.
Determines and selects finish materials, colors, and textures, which may include gathering samples, and design solutions.
Work closely with the director and producers on set design planning to support blocking.
Collaborates with various departments to obtain design approval.
Participates in creative team brainstorming and project kickoff meetings.
Possesses design skills to drive technical scenic design projects from inception to completion.
Qualifications and Experience:
3-5 years of professional design experience within the broadcast set or scenic fabrication industry.
Degree in interior design, set design, or relevant experience.
Exhibits a thorough understanding of finish materials and color theory.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Able to work collaboratively and independently.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, moving props and furniture as needed.
Ability to travel for offsite productions as-needed.
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation range for this position $28-$35/hour.
