Job Description

AECOM is seeking a high-school-level Construction Intern to be based in Denver, CO. 

This position is expected to begin in September 2024.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
  • Assist in establishing a safe working environment and safety culture.
  • Fulfill mainly field responsibilities as assigned by the Field Coordinator which include reporting to the Field Supervisor, supporting the Field Observers with their daily tasks, conducting daily field observations of field activities including potholing, restoration, and pre-construction meetings, completing daily activity and other reports.
  • Engage/follow up with customers professionally to obtain Consent Form Approval.
  • Perform field reviews for constructability, tree conflict, task order/work area closeout, and warranty walks.
  • Support the Construction Management Team with their daily tasks.
  • Upload reports using various software.
  • Perform QC on safety observations with the Field Coordinator.
  • For the Field Coordinator's approval, assist with an initial review of contractor submittals (materials, RFIs, etc.).

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in high school, third year or unless graduating and pursuing a higher degree.
  • An interest in pursuing continuing education in Construction Management or Engineering.
  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MS Office Programs
  • OSHA 10 Certification (able to obtain during the internship).

Additional Information

  • Relocation allowance is not available for this position.
  • The primary office location will be the Denver Water Field Office, 555 Quivas Street, Denver, CO.
  • This position is for September through December 2024.
  • The position's focus is working in the field, alongside other Team members performing activities as outlined below.
