Job Title: Slitter OperatorJob DescriptionWe are hiring 2 Slitter Operators/Helpers in Ann Arbor, MI. This small but productive location generates about $6 million worth of product. The primary task involves slitting coils to the correct measurements and dispatching them. Coils are sourced from Cleveland Cliffs (AK Steel) and mainly supplied to automotive companies such as Purem and Forvia.SHIFT: 5am-1:30pmWarehouse Entry Responsibilities:- Promote a safety culture and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures.- Check work orders and select processed material, verifying weight, alloy, size, and quality.- Operate a forklift to transport material to the production floor or shipping department.- Follow packaging instructions.- Operate simple hand tools and machines (automatic bander, core cutting machine, shrink wrapper, nail gun, circular saw, etc.).- Properly identify all slit material and complete all documentation.- Group completed coils by work order in designated areas.- Maintain a clean and neat work area.- Opportunity for advancement into production.- Prepare metal coils by trimming them to customer-specified widths.
