Excecutive Creative Director

Aescape is actively recruiting a stellar Executive Creative Director to play a pivotal role in standing up and leading a creative department, protecting our brand and driving creative excellence through every way we show up in the world. You will create the infrastructure, team, work and processes to lead a multidisciplinary team of creatives to develop visionary concepts, compelling narratives, and immersive experiences for our brand, partners, and members (customers).

Position is in New York with travel to SF for collaboration with VP of Design. Leadership role reporting to VP, Marketing.

Aescape is the NY-based lifestyle robotics company redefining self-care. 

We announced the world's first commercially available, fully automated AI-powered massage experience with Equinox in March — and this is only the beginning. We are in a period of rapid growth, launching our category-transforming product throughout 2024 with global leaders in hospitality, wellness, sports and fitness.

What You’ll Do 

As ECD, you’ll be at the forefront of Aescape’s transformative journey, harnessing the power of robotics to unlock possibilities and position technology as a trusted partner in enhancing human life. This role is central to our mission, serving as the creative core of Aescape. You will:

  • Create, Manage and Motivate: Beginning as its first member, you will build, lead, and inspire a multidisciplinary creative team within our Marketing department. You'll be responsible for determining assignments, managing throughput, conducting evaluations, and setting incentives that align with departmental and company goals, fostering our culture of high performance. We’re a bold brand, and are looking for bold ways to activate it in culture.

  • Author & Guide: Develop and industrialize an end-to-end creative process that uses creativity to drive business results, and ensures creative excellence from concept development through to execution. Your leadership will ensure all creative outputs align with our brand's vision and standards.

  • Champion Consistency: Maintain established guidelines, verbal and visual standards across all brand touchpoints. Your eye for detail will safeguard our brand's integrity and consistency, ensuring our creative messaging is always clear, understood and memorable.

  • Drive Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (including sales, product, operations, people, and senior leadership) across the company to deliver creative solutions that enhance our company and product proposition. Your ability to collaborate and build bridges will be key in creating cohesive and impactful creative work across Consumer, Brand, Partnerships and Retail.

  • Leverage Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data to inform and refine creative strategies. Your capacity to interpret insights will guide the creative process, ensuring our campaigns are not only innovative but also effective in driving guests through our door, and revenue to our bottom line.

  • Lead with Creativity and Maturity: Your role demands a balance of creative vision and mature leadership. You will provide senior direction across all marketing needs, translating creative vision into compelling campaigns and brand experiences. Leading with courage, you'll manage multiple priorities effectively, fostering an environment where creative risks lead to company breakthroughs.

  • Collaborative Resourcefulness: You’ll help develop a nimble and adaptive resourcing model by building, motivating, and sustaining a network of freelance and agency talent; managing relationships, briefings, budgets and outcomes to ensure our company deliverables meet our shared standards of excellence.

  • You possess critical skills that include problem-solving, adaptability, and the ability to remain confident under pressure. Your collaborative nature enables you to sell ideas and build trusted relationships across the organization.

  • You are a full-stack creative problem solver and operator, with a background in Verbal and Voice creative development, and will be the ideal collaborative complement to our VP of Design.


What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 15 years of experience as an operating creative, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Your creative superpowers are anchored in the power of the written word.  

  • Proven track record of success in branding, experiential design, and campaign development; preferably in a startup environment, in-house team or fast-paced agency setting. 

  • Unique and relevant portfolio of work, showcasing your ability to flex across all forms of verbal expression: concept development, brand voice, copywriting, briefs, etc.  

  • Creative fluency across all media touchpoints, with a strong portfolio to showcase your creative versatility across campaigns, working within and/or developing visual and verbal design systems, copywriting, content creation, video, creative operations and production, and collateral development.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating ideas and strategies with clarity and persuasion, at all levels of the organization.
