Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager

This role is hybrid / based in New York City, NY or  San Francisco, CA

We’re looking for a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager responsible for activities that include: key commodity sourcing decisions, strategic supply base management, product cost management, supplier performance, cost, contract formulation and maintenance, and assurance of supply. Key focus will be to drive supply chain initiatives that with all achieve Cost, Quality and meet customer satisfaction levels and the required cost model.  

What You’ll Do 

As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager at Aescape you will:

• Be responsible for Supplier evaluation, selection, contract and price negotiations to meet time to market, cost and quality goals.

• Identify, develop, on-board and ramp Suppliers to support product launches.

• Ensure early supplier involvement in the new product development process.

• Develops and executes sourcing strategies across multiple commodities; experience in mechanical parts is highly desirable.

• Drive technology roadmaps with key suppliers to meet current and future product requirements.

• Drive company-wide COGS reduction initiatives including volume purchase agreements, alternative source evaluations, value engineering, etc.

• Monitor industry trends including; lead times, allocation issues, future technology shifts and ensure there is a risk mitigation strategy in place to ensure continuity of supply.

• Plans, organizes, and directs supplier long-term contract negotiations.

• Conduct benchmarking to establish and maintain a supply chain management process and ensure performance and cost is better than competition.

• Develop and updates Preferred Part listing while working closely with product development for maximum technology reuse.

• Institute flexibility programs with key partners to optimize schedule flexibility throughout the supply chain while minimizing excess inventory exposure.

• Experience Sourcing in Asia and North America for mechanical commodites.

• Develop a Monthly Supplier Performance Report Card system which monitors actual supplier performance to agreed upon goals for quality, delivery, flexibility and cost.

• Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with CMs and Tier 1 suppliers to review performance, drive continuous improvement programs and discuss Vantage’s future Technology Roadmap. 

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.

• 10+ year’s experience in Supplier Sourcing, Purchasing and/or Commodity management.   

• Self-starter mentality, solution-oriented attitude.

• Excellent cross-functional teamwork.

• Ability to operate in a dynamic, start-up environment with minimal supervision.

• Exceptional leadership skills and ability to formulate strategic vision by commodity.

• Excellent negotiation skills (including formal contracts).

• Strong experience in Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations Management.

• Strong experience with management of the customer/supplier interface with Contract Manufactures.
